Clean, Clear Design for Book Publishing Effort

Clean, clear design is an important aspect of the multi-faceted project recently completed for Dr. Jeff Herten.

Clean, clear design is an important aspect of the work produced by Central Creative Group, and those characteristics are again evident in a multi-faceted project recently completed for Dr. Jeff Herten.

Dr. Herten

For nearly thirty years, Dr. Herten was a high functioning alcoholic - one who drinks every day, yet continues to lead a productive, successful life. In his book, The Sobering Truth, he shares his first-hand knowledge of how alcohol can destroy lives - as it nearly destroyed his.

The Book

CCG was asked to design & produce a custom book cover and website for The Sobering Truth. In response, an intentionally stark design was developed to illustrate the book’s serious theme. The design was then carried over into several additional projects which support the book.

The DVD

The first additional project was an educational DVD containing video presentations from the author. CCG took the existing book cover art and designed a matching, custom label for the DVD.

The Site

Next, a matching website was developed in ExpressionEngine. Among other things, the site contains excerpts of the book, reviews and testimonials, and links to a customized BigCartel shopping cart where the book can be purchased. Finally, a personal blog was developed for the author.

Throughout these projects, CCG ensured that the clean, clear design originally developed for the book cover was maintained & presented consistently.
